Understanding Conviction Scores
Not all whale trades are equal. Our conviction scoring system tells you how serious the trader is about each bet.
Whale is betting 2-25x their normal position size. This is their highest-confidence play. In backtests, following score 7-10 trades yielded 1,037% returns over 5 months.
Whale is betting around their typical size. Still a valid signal given their track record, but less differentiated from their routine activity.
Small, exploratory bet — well below the trader's median. Often used for market research or low-confidence speculative positions. We filter these out of Pro alerts.
Our backtest found the optimal entry price is 30-55 cents — markets where the outcome is uncertain but whales see value. This range produced Sharpe ratio 12.2 with only 2% max drawdown.
